Daily Prompt: Amble!

Note:1. Posted as part of the Daily Prompt series from WordPress

2. I post photographs I have taken symbolizing the words given for the Daily prompts and not detailed written articles!

For the prompt Amble, I guess photograph of an elephant would be most apt! Wherever I have seen elephants, whether it be in the wild or at Zoos, they always seem lost in their own world and amble along! However, elephants do run at a pretty fast pace, at around 40km/hr!

Taken at Mysore Zoo, India

About the word: (From Google)

Meaning: walk or move at a slow, relaxed pace.

Example: “The Elephant ambled along the riverbank”

Synonyms: stroll, saunter, wander, meander, ramble, dawdle, promenade, walk, go for a walk, take a walk, roam, traipse, stretch one’s legs, get some exercise, get some air, take the air;

    1. Yeah! and we humans also run at an average of 40kmph and hence it is recommended that if you are ever chased by an elephant, never try to run straight as you can’t outrun the elephant, so run zig-zag as it will slow down the elephant 😀
